What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds with your vehicle's paint, creating a permanent or semi-permanent layer of protection. Unlike wax or sealants that sit on top of the paint, ceramic forms a true bond — meaning it cannot be washed away or broken down by rain, UV rays, or bird droppings.
At Grey Garage, we use Gyeon and Gtechniq professional-grade ceramic systems, applied in a climate-controlled environment by certified technicians. The result is a deep, wet-look gloss that intensifies your paint's colour and makes every surface hydrophobic — water sheets off rather than beading on the surface.
What's Included
Full Decontamination Wash
Two-bucket safe wash, iron fallout removal, and clay bar treatment to create a perfectly clean surface before coating.
Paint Correction (Optional)
Machine polish to remove swirls and light scratches prior to coating. Ceramic locks everything in — so we make sure it's perfect first.
Panel Wipe & IPA Prep
Each panel is wiped with isopropyl alcohol to remove any polish oils and ensure maximum ceramic adhesion.
Professional Ceramic Application
Gyeon Q² One or Gtechniq Crystal Serum applied panel by panel, levelled and cured under controlled conditions.
Curing & Final Inspection
24-hour cure in our climate-controlled bay followed by a thorough inspection under specialist lighting.
Aftercare Kit & Instructions
You leave with a maintenance kit and detailed care guide to ensure your coating performs for its full lifespan.
Our Application Process
Consultation & Assessment
We inspect the paint under specialist lighting, gauge paint depth, and recommend the right coating tier and any pre-work required.
Decontamination
Full wash, iron remover, tar remover, and clay bar. Every contaminant is stripped before we touch the paint with a machine.
Paint Correction
Where agreed, we correct the paint using DA or rotary polishers, removing defects and maximising gloss depth.
Ceramic Application
Working panel by panel in our climate-controlled bay, we apply the ceramic, allow it to flash, and level before moving on.
Cure & QC
24-hour cure, then a multi-point inspection under LED and halogen lighting to confirm a flawless result.
Handover
We walk you through the result, hand over your aftercare kit, and answer any questions about maintaining your coating.
